I’m currently trapped on a plane somewhere over Alaska (-ish), so I figured I’d sit around here and write a bit, yeah? I could also meditate and stuff, but hey, I have a whole 8.5 5hours left on this flight without wifi to get all of that in, so we’ll get to these things when we get to them. There’s plenty of time for sleep and meditation and movies and reading and whatever else pops into my mind by then.
I was thinking a bit more about some goals for the year earlier, and it came to me that setting goals isn’t really about picking things that you should do and declaring that you’ll do them, but rather realizing the things that you already want to do and clarifying measurable goals around them. There’s a few areas where this may apply for me, with fitness being at least one of them. Maybe travel is another, but I kinda hate the concept of travel as an “accomplishment” – it’s really a luxury for the most part, and aside from specific actions (e.g. climbing a mountain or something, something that requries a certain amount of skill or risk), travel is mostly just showing up and experiencing stuff.
