Bar Ixey
This place was excellent! I first visited in 2023 ([[Japan, Fall 2023]]). The bartender, 織田浩彰 (Oda Hiroaki-san), speaks English conversationally, and I was surprised that almost everyone who visited were other Americans. This place specializes in herbal liquors. The bar is just a few seats, the walls lined end-to-end with specialty liquors and spirits. Hiroaki-san grows many of the herbs for his drinks in his own garden, and he travels regularly to other parts of the world to find new spirits. He made a few drinks for me, the ones I remember being a yuzu riff on a gin and tonic, and the second being a plum Manhattan with Japanese whiskey and plums from his garden.
